✨ Preserving the Hamstra Family Legacy ✨

Stories, recipes, letters, and photos — uncovered, digitized, and shared so our history isn’t lost.

Welkom!

Over the years, our family has gathered an incredible collection of books, letters, recipes, photos, and memories — some dating back generations. My grandfather, Calvin Hamstra, assembled reference books about our history, we have letters from the steamship line that carried our ancestors from Rotterdam to New York, there are family cookbooks, slides, and boxes of photos.

This project is about making those treasures easy to access and bringing them back to life.

As I scan, research, and share, you’ll see:

  • 📖 Short stories and discoveries from the archives

  • 🎥 Occassional videos or posts bringing documents and photos to life

  • 🍰 Recipes from the family cookbook

  • 🗣️ Interviews with relatives, capturing their voices and memories

  • 📂 Downloads of scans, documents, and trees

How You Can Support

Preserving all this takes time and resources — scanning, organizing, sometimes paying to digitize old tapes.

If you’d like to support, here are a few ways:

  • 🛍️ Shop the Merch – Keepsakes inspired by our family’s legacy

  • 📂 Downloads – Printable snippets from cookbooks, letters, and other archives

  • ❤️ Donations – Help cover costs directly

  • 🎥 Project Sponsorships – For special projects (like digitizing old tapes or slides or interviewing family members), you’ll see limited sponsor slots in the shop

Every bit of support helps keep our stories alive and accessible.
